Phish

In a career spanning more than 20 years, Phish became one of the most significant live music phenomena of all time. On the basis of word-of-mouth about their performances—with virtually no radio or video support—the band grew from playing club gigs along their native East Coast to drawing 100,000 music fans to remote corners of the country. At every turn, Phish managed to win over newcomers and casual fans as well as maintain the loyalty of their devotees with a singularly broad repertoire, virtuosity, and by making a unique event of each show.

Phish: At The Roxy

Eight-disc box set of legendary three-night run Feb 19, 20, 21, 1993 Atlanta, GA

Phish and JEMP Records will release the complete three nights of music from the Roxy Theatre—six sets featuring 78 unique songs with two special guests and only one repeat spread over eight CDs—as "Phish: At The Roxy", available in stores everywhere on November 18.

The second concert of the run is one the most-collected live Phish bootlegs; however, this will be the first time they will be heard in true high fidelity. The recordings are drawn from soundman/luthier Paul Languedoc’s two-track soundboard reference DATs and mastered by regular Phish collaborator, Fred Kevorkian. One of the many highlights of At The Roxy is the second set of that show, which is highly celebrated for its extended suite of “Tweezer,” the James Gang’s “Walk Away,” “Mike’s Song,” the reggae song “Have Mercy,” Kiss’s “Rock and Roll All Nite”
among other songs and improvisations. Several special guests join Phish onstage, including Jimmy Herring (Widespread Panic, the Allman Brothers Band, Aquarium Rescue Unit) during the second set of the first night and banjo player Jeff Mosier (Blueground Undergrass, Aquarium Rescue Unit, Leftover Salmon) for a bluegrass encore during the third show. This is Phish at their peak in terms of playful, anything-goes musical precociousness. This is the first complete multiple-show release since Hampton Comes Alive and the Island Tour of 1998.

For your listening pleasure, here is a preview from
"Phish: At The Roxy".

Encore - Good Times Bad Times > Paul and Silas > Pig In a Pen (edit - with Jeff Mosier) - Phish

From the Encore of 2/21/93, tracks 12, 13, and 14 combined and edited Good Times Bad Times > Paul and Silas > Pig in a Pen (with Jeff Mosier)

Pre-order the box set now at
http://drygoods.phish.com/Dept.aspx?cp=773_14732
And pre-order the digital set at
http://www.livephish.com/packages/phish_roxy1993.asp

7/22/97 Walnut Creek, Raleigh, NC on DVD

On July 22, 1997, Phish performed the second show of their U.S. summer tour at Walnut Creek Amphitheatre in Raleigh, NC through a torrent of rain, thunder and lightning related to Hurricane Danny. Rather than cancel the gig, the band played on with the music mirroring the peaks in the storm’s intensity. 1997 was a particularly fertile period in the band’s creativity onstage, as exemplified at Walnut Creek.

Phish’s own JEMP Records is proud to offer the complete Walnut Creek show on DVD, in stores everywhere August 5. Phish’s first full concert DVD since 2006’s acclaimed Live In Brooklyn set, Walnut Creek features more than 2 hours of 5-camera footage in 5.1 Dolby Surround or optional stereo sound on two DVDs.

Walnut Creek is a well known show among Phish fans, which, due to its conciseness and diverse song selection, is also accessible to newer fans. Highlights include “Down With Disease” that slowly segues into “Mike’s Song”—the first and only time these two classic tunes were ever paired together in such a way—as well as “Taste,” complete with near Biblical thunder and lightning display (some fans say the band seemed to “play” the storm; others that the storm “played” the band). In a bit of Phish humor, the band performed the then-new song “Water in the Sky.” The show also includes the Jon Fishman-penned song “Bye Bye Foot,” which was only performed in concert a handful of times. Overall the show is remembered as a significant example of Phish’s hallmark approach to group improvisation with the performances here characterized by an exceptionally democratic and refined balance of four musical voices.

Anyone who pre-orders the DVD from Dry Goods will receive Phish: Left Nuts, a bonus CD featuring more than 75 minutes of previously unreleased music from Phish's past performances at Walnut Creek, produced specifically for this release.
http://drygoods.phish.com/Dept.aspx?cp=773_1403

In addition, you can pre-order (available for download on August 5th) MP3 and Flac versions of Walnut Creek's audio at LivePhish.com and get an exclusive bonus track of You Enjoy Myself with special guest Boyd Tinsley from 6/16/95 Walnut Creek Amphitheatre, Raleigh, NC.
http://www.livephish.com/show.asp?show=414

PHISH WALNUT CREEK DVD TRACKLISTING

DISC ONE
Runaway Jim
My Soul
Water In The Sky
Stash
Bouncing Around The Room
Vultures
Bye Bye Foot
Taste
DISC TWO
Down With Disease
Mike's Song
Simple
I Am Hydrogen
Weekapaug Groove
Hello My Baby
When The Circus Comes
Harry Hood

Exclusive Dry Goods Bonus CD Phish: Left Nuts TRACKLISTING

1.
