Studies indicate that in just 2 decades, the incidence of overweight children doubled in the US for the 6 to 11 age group, and tripled in the teenage bracket.

According to the annual National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey run by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about one-third of children in the United States are overweight or at risk for being overweight. The survey also indicates that about 25 million US children and adolescents are “overweight or nearly overweight.”

Education Institution for Students with Learing Disabilities to be Featured on The Profiles Series
