AVR 2.0

My home (www.avrepublic.com) has gotten streamlined a bit, lost its dead links, and is now directly linked up to iMeem blog space. Simply put, it is a new site for a new chapter. Criticisms of the outlandish green colour will either be scoffed at or ignored completely. I'm big on experimentation at the moment...or the LA sun is distorting my mind. Oh, hell...just watch the new piece "IM". Cheers.

Sensory Nerd Fix

On sunday I got a chance to sit in with some LA VJs and do a bit of experimentation with my UC33. Wonderful, like minded people throughout...It was great to meet some new artists in this medium, which for whatever reason, remains completely obscure in the US. Portland, are you paying attention?
Memoir

The beauty in life is omnipresent, but for many it is easily blurred or forgotten. Therefore the way we translate its language must be found in ever new contexts. Not only do we as artists possess a tendency towards the creative, but are bound by a dire responsibility to it. This discipline of film is an art; it is a seduction; it is a language of God. And the hints of beauty and visions of future that have been entrusted to us must be channeled with the greatest of circumspection.
Not always cheerful or sublime, great stories have been told across the entire spectrum of human experience. Many are sorrowful. But they were stories that needed to be told.
With so many of the tragic pictures, voices, and events that are taking place, even as I write this, at this moment in time, there are new stories waiting to be told. That is where we as artists must take our place, as those who would author the story masterfully, as those who would reveal life in all its color, whether it reveals pain or splendor, darkness or light. Truth, in all its confounding perplexity, is what we’re aiming at.

A

Now that I have my own lawyer

Lately, I've felt determined to finish some new songs before the weight of school crushes any alternate endeavors...With 3 or 4 pieces in the works - only one made this post. "Sunken" (I'm just now realizing) is the shortest ambient song ever. The system rearranged my key words so it says "sexy aaron." I promise this was not deliberate. Doze off to the song. Pray I can drop the beat so you can eventually wake up.

Other Media that has engaged me most in this last week:

The Lake of Fire - Lee Bozeman (Luxury, A.T.B.B.)
The Shining - Kubrick
2001 - Kubrick
Ride a White Horse - Goldfrapp
When the Leaves Blow Away - Steven Wright
Closer - Travis
Ulrich Schnauss - Goodbye
Lifesavas - Gutterfly
2046 - WKW

Now that I have my own lawyer, Apple store, and wind tunnel, know that those of you on my enemies list will suffer accordingly.
Speaking of Nixon, I think he would have enjoyed P2P networks and would have started the first user page featuring only those who were politically staged against him. Remember: it's not your space, it's my space.

Yes, the aforementioned are now mine thanks to ACCD acceptance...DUI? No problem. CS3? Adjacent to the cafeteria. Wind tunnel...Come...Anyone who knows me at all knows I've been wanting one. The resources here are vast and mentally staggering to me...and I'm not sure what I'm going to do with myself. Hopefully something better than "just kind of ok."

Requiem...

I watched the film Requiem for a Dream today for the first time. Afterward I shot and scored this short untitled piece in my apartment. I do not know if the two are related. Tell me what you think. Annie?...

A
