Employee of the Month

I'm down in New Mexico getting ready to start filming Employee of the Month.

Hollywood Reporter has a story about it in today's issue.

Shepard, Ramirez clock in for 'Employee'

By Tatiana Siegel

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Dax Shepard and Efren Ramirez will join comedian Dane Cook and Jessica Simpson in "Employee of the Month."

The Lionsgate project centers on best friends (Cook and Shepard) who work in a Costco-like store and meet a hot new cashier (Simpson) who prefers ambitious men. The men begin an all-out war to become the store's next employee of the month in order to impress her.

Ramirez (Pedro in "Napoleon Dynamite") and Harland Williams ("There's Something About Mary") will play store employees. Greg Coolidge will make his feature directorial debut on the film.

Principal photography begins Wednesday in Santa Fe, N.M.

Shepard, whose credits include "Zathura" and "Cheaper by the Dozen," recently sold the comedy pitch "Get 'Em Wet" to Paramount Pictures as a starring vehicle. Ramirez appears in the upcoming Jack Black comedy "Nacho Libre."

6 Days Until Sundance

Hey everyone, it's my first blog post on imeem!! I love it! I've been out to Sundance for the past 2 years now. Two years ago I was there with this little film that no one heard of called Napoleon Dynamite and played this character named "Pedro". About 3 years ago I had the choice to be in Napoleon Dynamite or The Alamo. The Alamo was a big studio picture and offered me 10 times more than Napoleon Dynamite offered me. I wasn't sure what to do so I asked my dad and he told me to follow my heart. That is what Napoleon tells Pedro in Napoleon Dynamite so I felt like that was a sign and I went with Napoleon. Once the film premiered at Sundance in 2004, it was a very exciting experience because there were offers to distribute the film on a national theatrical scale!!

Since the success of Napoleon I have filmed roles in 6 films that will be coming out in the next year. I just signed to a big picture and once I'm allowed to say what it is I'll do it here!

I've also formed a production company with a few of my business partners (PowerhousePictures.com), and we're in production on a very big and very important documentary called After School (afterschooldocumentary.com).

More updates to come... 6 days until Sundance!
