Having recently peaked at #10, the 3kStatic track 'Projected Tones' this week marks its sixth week on the Canada Dance Top 40 on the charts at ZipDJ, North America's leading promotional pool for electronic dance music.

Taken from the 2009 Sony release Evolver, the original version of 'Projected Tones' also peaked at #24 on the US Dance Charts. Remixes of the track were also released April 2009 on the Nightshade Music label.

Featuring 10 new tracks, the forthcoming 3kStatic release Not Art will be released in digital formats by dPulse Recordings October 27, 2009. A return to the band's IDM/Experimental Dance roots, Not Art includes several tracks recorded at Nurse Audio (Atlanta, Georgia).

Taking its title from the band's long-standing identification with the Dadaist movement, Not Art' is loosely assembled as a concept album and will precede the release of the digital version of the 3kStatic Sony release Evolver and the compilation albums Collaborations and Remixes, which feature the band's more accessible tracks released 2006-2009.

With tracks appearing on episodes of MTV's groundbreaking reality series 'The Real World" for over five years, 3kStatic has become a staple of the show's soundtrack.

3kStatic tracks also have been included on the soundtrack to other Viacom programming, including "Road Rules" and on the Gay/Lesbian oriented Logo cable channel.

For the First Quarter of 2009, BMI reports that 3kStatic music registered 12,090 'spins' (performances), including the tracks 'Dreamlanding'; 'Parallel Rush'; 'Rail' and 'Tomorrow' appearing on the soundtrack of "The Real World" during the Q1 program cycle on MTV UK.

dPulse Recordings and INgrooves will release 'Sugar Evolver', the new single from 3kStatic and Kevin Max on Tuesday, July 21.

With the original version appearing on the 3kStatic album 'Evolver' (Sony catalog number SLED117), the Sugar Evolver single features additional versions, including a downtemp remix from Belgian production team Suite 406, members of which have also remixed Lamb, Underworld and many others.

The single will be available at all digital music stores, including iTunes and Beatport.

3kStatic has joined Ultra Records artists Josh Wetherington and DJ Christopher James in supporting the Modern Art Music Movement, a unified effort to market peace by harnessing the talents of its members and by displacing politics, political correctness, religion and prejudice aside in favor of common sense.

Founded by noted artist Victor-Hugo Vaca II, MAMM is perhaps best known for coordinating a series of events that combine music, performance art and the live performance of visual arts.

Previous MAMM events have included performances pairing Victor-Hugo with Victor Calderone, BT and Thomas Dolby and many others.

Vaca is also known for his efforts to produce the groundbreaking art serial Crackhead Jesus (since retitled Redemption), and for his dark horse run as an independent candicate for President.

Voodoo Science to be the band’s 14th release as members vie for GRAMMY® nod

NEW YORK---They’ve recorded 13 albums, soared to the top of the iTunes European dance charts and collaborated with an eclectic assortment of rock, electronic, funk and hip hop artists. Now, US-based electronic music collective 3kStatic (dPulse/INgrooves) announces it has joined artistic forces with former Public Enemy “Bomb Squad” production team member Kerwin Young for its 14th release, Voodoo Science.

The album (DPR-077) is slated to drop on Cargo Records Germany and INgrooves/ONE Digital January 28, 2008.

Couple the band’s new release with its current consideration for a GRAMMY® nomination for “Best/Dance Electronica Album” (Where’s Our Piece of the Groovy World?), and 3kStatic has become one of the most successful, completely-under-the-radar music acts on the scene.

That is, until now.

Founding members Capone/Dickens/Katz/Verdi and their rotating cast of likeminded musicians are collaborating with newest member Young to bring their brand of “IDM art-rock” to the forefront of the electronic music scene.

The band’s upcoming release, Voodoo Science, incorporates elements of progressive house, trip hop, rock, breaks and industrial dance with the sometimes-blistering social commentary that earned them critical and commercial notice in Europe. Featured collaborators on the album include Parthenon Huxley of The Orchestra/ELO, Part II; Professor Griff (Public Enemy); Graham Crabb and Adam Mole of Pop Will Eat Itself; Rom Di Prisco (Skinny Puppy, Richard ‘Humpty’ Vission); former Cabaret Voltaire live drummer Nort, and legendary vocalist Greg X. Volz of seminal Christian arena rockers Petra. Noted house producers Datguy, Kris B. and DJ Madison and up-and-comers Dean James, Rigger and DJ Anemone round out the cast of collaborators appearing on Voodoo Science.

With such an unusual assortment of musical collaborators, it’s assured that the resulting album is equally eclectic – and on the mark.

With notable singles such as ‘Ma Ma Ma Belle’ and ‘Showdown’ – completely new reworkings of the ELO classics –Voodoo Science promises to break new ground for 3kStatic as they follow up on the success of the
2006 success of Groovy World. That album hit #1 on Spain’s iTunes Dance Chart and charted on the Top 5 in Italy, Belgium and Switzerland, remaining in the Top 20 in those countries for 10 consecutive weeks.

3kStatic embarked on a more aggressive live slate in 2006-2007, including shows at Remix Hotel events in Miami Beach (in conjunction with Winter Music Conference), and New York City. Additional live dates in Philadelphia, Nashville, and Atlanta highlighted the live schedule, with the band logging over 10,400 miles on the road in March, April and May alone.

The critical momentum of Groovy World has carried over into the GRAMMY® nomination process, with 3kStatic appearing on the nomination ballot in the “Best Electronica/Dance Album” category - the first 3kStatic release to appear on the ballot.

With the addition of Kerwin Young to 3kStatic, the band looks to broaden its horizons in 2008.

As a full member of Public Enemy’s “Bomb Squad” production team, Young put his stamp on many of Public Enemy’s best-known albums and tracks, later producing albums from Mobb Deep, Professor Griff and many others. More recently, Young has switched creative gears to focus on symphonic, jazz and rock projects. He makes his first 3kStatic appearance (along with Professor Griff) on Voodoo Science with the searing track ‘Groove at the Point of a Breakdown, Pt. 2.’

In addition to his work with 3kStatic, Young recently saw the release of his five solo funk/jazz albums (as Kasuf & The Mazz Muvement) on the band’s dPulse imprint in fall 2007.
