Nightphoenix / Gabriel

Why live once and die twice, when you can live twice and die once? - Gabriel Sylvestre
2 Cor 4:16-18; 5:1-4; 1Cor 15:52-58

Jesus already has the keys over death. He fought satan for them. 2 Tim 1:10

I'm blowing my horn,...Who will listen? Just as a rooster crows to awaken those early in the morning, I call out to alert and summon those chosen to come to Christ.

God looks at the heart of a person.

The end is upon us, get your soul right today.
Time is precious: 2 Tim 3:1-5

Out of all the beautiful things that exist, the most beautiful thing ever to see is a changed heart.

People are like prisoners of their heart. It takes a truly open heart, to find the keys that unlock them from the shackles of their sinful desires.

I'm a member of the Church of Christ. Hi,...Firstly,...I want to see and walk with God and Jesus one day hopefully. I want to be apart of that everlastingly beautiful kingdom and not be lost and swallowed up by the darkness that is then cast into the lake of fire. Nothing but, screams of souls wait in the dark torchering everlasting pits of hell. Who can challenge God? No one. Its foolish to challenge him when he himself made the devil himself. He is now a dishonored exile and disgraced outcast. The devil's fate is already sealed while we still have time to make it out. Why follow a chapter in a book when its already done with? Wouldn't you move on to the next. Look not at the darkness that is to vanish, but, at the hope of light and everlasting life. People blame God when something happens. God did this, God did that,...then, beg him for things like he's some sort of genie. He is not. He is God. People forget that the Devil exists too. He has powerful influence that summons us to respond to the dark parts within our soul too. Tell me,...how can God help those in need, when they run further and further away from him and his word. When you dance in the field of destruction and corruption, what do you expect is going to happen? Just as a parents who knows best for their child, the child knows not what is best. If a parent crossed the street and tells the child to stay close by their side,..to follow them,...and the child does not,....only tragedy awaits outside the lines of pedestrian crossing. What the parent tells the child is for the child's own good. But, if the child is so curious or listens not and goes about their own way,...what else awaits in the vicinity of danger? We are no different, but the same as children in God's eyes. God knows what's best. The only way out is Jesus. To let God's spirit reign down on us through salvation. God did not create sin or evil. It is just a result of him giving us free will. The creation came about through us choosing to disobey. The Devil has power too, that people fail to look at. This is all one big battle that people tend to not see it as such. Make sure you truly place your understandings in the right place before you run into the wind of battle half naked and unarmed. Emotion alone blinds logic, but, Logic alone leads to a robot that lacks the spirit and emotion of love. A balance in using the two shall find your way to salvation.
Now,..I call myself the Nightphoenix. Yes,...I am an artist, I drew the pictures and made the music on my page. God gave me the talent and I use it accordingly.I have a broad avenue of talents and characteristics that make my personality,...'unique'. I have the heart, mind, and curiosity of a child. I'm the same as others and completely different from others at the exact same time. I'm a traditional collage of old school concepts, morals, truth, belief, and ideas as well as a infusion of multiple shades. I absorb, react, redirect, channel, deflect, use and reuse. I'm a nice mix of a fusion between Rouge (X-men), Nightcrawler (X-men), Bishop (X-men), Spider-man, Squall Leonhart (Final Fantasy), Dante (Devil May Cry), and Michael Jackson. I talk through truth, and I tell it the way it 'really' is. Some people say that but, they don't know what real truth is. So if you don't want to hear it, there's plenty of focusing room in the direction where I'm not standing. I stand with God, so I try my best to do what he says even though I am not perfect and I fall from time to time. All one can ever do is try his hardest. I'm very blunt, analytical, and direct, though people take it as being negative or rude, when really that's all that it really is. Just blunt and direct truth. I'm a loner, and people usually 'ALWAYS' mistake what I say because I'm detached from everyone around me. So I usually keep quite until its needed for me to speak. If you ask me,..these days, . . .people talk "TOO" much, and listen less. You leave yourself open when you do that. All you do is feed someone something to use against yourself. You can't listen and learn when you're talking. I'm one of the nicest people you will meet. But you know what they say about nice guys. Nice guys finish....

I am a christian. A member of the 'Church of Christ' (1 Cor. 11:23-29; 1 Cor. 10:4; Matt 16:18; Rom. 16:16; Acts 4:10-12; 1 Cor 12:22-27; 1 Cor 1:10; Gal 3:26-29)and a follower of Jesus Christ. Only through him can we be saved. Jesus doesn't want any divisions in churches. (No divisions: 1 Cor 1:10-13; 2:16; 6:17; 12:13; Eph. 2:18; 4:4; Phil. 1:27; 2:5) He founded it already Why live for today when you can have an eternal tomorrow? Why live once when you can live twice. Not for a short while, but,...for an eternity. Nothing lasts forever and we know not when we shall die. Life is but a winking blink of a vapor that appears as a ghost that vanishes in the night. Here today,...gone tomorrow.

What's the easiest thing to see in a dark room? If a candle is burning, wouldn't it be the brightest and easiest thing to see? In a world of darkness, christians are the pointers to the way and the light even though they themselves strive to make it into heaven. There would not be no need for a judgement day if the rules were "Once saved, always saved". That's why God has arranged a judgement for people. Aware or not,....here it comes. All sin derives from pride. Pride is selfish. Its all about one's self. All sin is about self, because it departs us from God. One cannot do what God wants if they're stuck on theirself. God wants the best for us, and knows what's best for us. In order to "achieve" or obtain heaven, it has to be earned. Just as any reward in life. The many examples lie before us. To gain a career, sustain a family, establish peace, and give unconditionally and have love, all takes work. Nothing comes easy, and nothing comes for free. Prepare your life not for tomorrow, but, there after for an everlasting eternity. God, (the king of light) shall send Jesus Christ, (the prince of light) one day to destroy his children's' enemies and foes, thus casting the corrupt into an excruciating pit of never ending lake of punishing fire. Clear up any animosities with others because, the prince shall return with a fury that has no equal. To die once means nothing if you are to live forever. But, to die twice is to suffer alive forever.

Have trouble believing?
The answer isn't just there,...its all around you. Open your eyes, wake up from your sleep and realize with awareness what is in front of you. The galaxy is enough. While it may be true that the big bang theory happened, God caused it to happen. It was controlled. If not why was there just one big bang? All of these years and not another one? That's because God chose to let this happen. Supernovas constantly explode "away" from us. So do black holes exist "away" from us as well. And its still just a theory. No one has ever seen a black hole. If you have, you're probably dead. The solar system is set up in a perfect circle where everything has a perfect balance. If there was nothing governing us, the creatures from Star Wars would walk among us. Reality isn't that random to just have being fusions created out of no where. There's so many things that are able to kill us, from poisins, to gases, people, animals, natural disasters, cancers, ozone depletion, diseases, gases, polution, freak accidents, the list goes on. It doesn't make sense. The only logic is God. Its a wonder that we are still alive by his graces. He protects us from not only the evil demon's deception, but, natural things as well. He (sent) "his" only "son" down to die for us. Still don't believe. Read Gal 6:7. Then reread up on what happened to the Titanic and Marylin Monroe. I'm not going to give you all the answers. You have to seek for yourself. Every point can be made on both sides of whether God exsists or not. It just goes around in circles for an infinite, with both sides constantly filled w/ persuasion. But, when all is said and done, it just comes down to whether you choose to believe and accept God as your ruler, provider, king and Jesus as your way. Bottom line is to accept the truth or not. It still comes down to you picking a side. If you choose no side, reconsider your thoughts because you've already chosen it. Its chosen for you. You stand with or against the truth. Those who make arguments against God with crafty persuasion and cunningness have already chosen their side because of their presented points. It takes a truly open and dilligent heart that seeks God to find him. God want to be found. You have to want to know that he exsists and is real to find him. (Luke 11 : 9-10; Matt 6:33; Matt 7:7-8; Act 17:27; Deu. 4:29; Jer 29:12-13; Rev 3:20). He wants you to have faith and believe. What good is it to show himself when we have to fight for it? If we saw him,...who wouldn't believe? Where would the battle or struggle be then? It would be too easy. God forces no one to do anything. We have to want to. That's what this whole battle is about in the first place. To obey one's self, (which is the follower of sin and satan's plan by deception) or to follow God, (the eternal and justice way to light). This is about searching your own heart and looking inside to see your worth, your capability to change. Which is harder? Saying "F* him/her", or " I'll F(orgive) him or her? Its to easy to be like everyone else and do whatever. The reward for your efforts feel so good once you've actually "WORKED" to achieve it, doesn't it? Its easier to find the darkness, than it is to find the light. People think through and focus on negative things more. Think about it. It takes a change of heart to move in the way of Jesus. To be . . . "Christ - like",...a "christian."

WHAT TO DO TO BE SAVED:

Hear:  Rom 10:17

Believe in: God: Heb 11:16

Christ: John 8:24

Gospel: Mk. 16:16

Repent: Acts 2:38

Confess Christ: Rom 10: 9-10

Be Baptized: Acts 22:16; 1Pet 2:21

The first most and greatest commandment: (Matthew 22:36; Deu. 30:6; )

Have Love: 1Cor. 13: 1-13; Eph. 5:1; 1 Tim. 1:5; Heb. 10:24; 1 Peter 3:8;

No fear in love: 1 John 4:18

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
God is not the author of confusion:
1 Corinthians 14:33; James 3:16;

No divisions:

1 Cor 1:10-13; 1 Corinthians 6:17; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 2:18; Ephesians 4:3-4; Philippians 1:27, 2:5; 1 Corinthians 2:16

Division cannot stand:
Matthew 12:25

"1 Cor 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment."

(The words are plain as day. If the words are that clear, why are there so many different churches (groups of people) doing there own thing? When a parents tell their children to do something, they don't mean do something else. They mean exactly as they say. God's children are no different.)

Attend the first day of the week: Acts 20:7; 1 Cor 16:1-2

Homos: 1 Tim 1:10

Gifts: Eph 4:7 = Eph 4:11

What you need to know about sex and marriage: (Acts 15:20; Romans 1:29; 1 Corinthians 5:1; 6:13,18; 7:2; 10:8; 2 Corinthians 12:21; Galatians 5:19; Ephesians 5:3; Colossians 3:5; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; Jude 7; Hebrews 13:4).

Work: 2 Thes. 3:6-15

Speak kind to others: 2 Thes. 3:15

The Delusion: (2 Thes 2:8-12; Rom 1:28; Ps 81:11,12 109:17; Isa 29:9-14; John 12:39-43; Rom 1:21-25,28; 2Ch 18:18-22; Mt 24:5,11 1Ti 4:1; Job 12:16)

Jesus is not God, but one in the same thinking agreement as God: 1 Tim 2:5,6; 1Cor 1:13

1. Jesus rose on the first day of the week not the Sabbath: Mk 16:9
2. All 6 appearances of Jesus happen on two Sundays, none on Sabbath. Mk 16:9; Mt 28:5-9; Lk 24:34; Lk 24:13-15; Lk 24:33,36 + Jn 20:19; Jn 20:26
3. Christians are recorded assembling three times on Sunday after resurrection and before ascension, never on the Sabbath. Jn 20:19 Jn 20:26 Acts 2:1 (We do not claim that these were worship services, just the early starting point of Sunday gatherings)
4. The only time Christians are recorded to have assembled together was on a Sunday in Acts 20:7, never does it say the disciples assembled on the Sabbath.
5. The only day ever mentioned when Christians broke bread was on Sunday: Acts 20:7
6. Christians are commanded every Sunday to give into a common treasury of the church: 1 Cor 16:1-2
7. Jesus was declared the Son of God on Sunday: Rom 1:4
8. Ps 2:7 "Today I have begotten thee" was fulfilled on Sunday when he rose: Acts 13:33
9. The sign that Jesus was glorified was given on Sunday: Jn 7:39 + Acts 2:1,32
10. The church officially began on Pentecost Sunday: Acts 2:1
11. Jesus was crowned king on a Sunday: Acts 2:33-36
12. The sign that Jesus was glorified was given on Sunday: Jn 7:39 + Acts 2:1,32
13. The church officially began on Pentecost Sunday: Acts 2:1
14. The disciples reception of the promise of the Father on Sunday: Acts 1:4-5; 2:1-4
15. The Holy Spirit first fell upon the apostles on a Sunday: Acts 2:1-4
16. Salvation first preached by Peter on Sunday: Mt 16:19; Acts 2:1,38,40-41
17. The Keys to the Kingdom of God were first used on Sunday: Mt 16:19
18. The great "Triumphal entry" (also called "Palm Sunday") happened on the first day: Luke 13:32
19. The time between the Lord’s resurrection (sheaf waving day) and Pentecost was Sunday to Sunday counting of 50 days. The starting and stopping time was on the 1st day.
20. First time Jesus worshiped after resurrection was on the first day by Thomas (Jn. 20:26).
21. The first time we could be born again to a living hope was on a Sunday: 1 Pet. 1:3
22. The first time Jesus had communion after his resurrection with His disciples, was on a Sunday: (Lk. 24:1, 13, 28-35)
23. Pentecost was a Sunday - Sunday duration of 50 days. The starting point and stopping point of counting the 50 days was a Sunday - Sunday period!

While the Sabbath was significant to the Jews, there is no New Testament significance of the Sabbath in connection with anything of Christ, Christianity, the church or heaven!

Women in church
1 Cor. 11 : 23-29

Personal search and study:

“Work hard so God can approve you. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15). By studying the Bible, you allow God to speak to you and teach you the things that he wants you to know. "All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right." (2 Timothy 3:16).

If you don't believe in something, You'll fall for anything. Why are you just living to die. There's no hope nor future in that. Wouldn't you want to live for something more? A cause? Dedicated to meaning? To something that won't fade away into nothing?

Things You Should Know

(The following was taken from: http://church-of-christ.org/church-of-christ/JMB.html)

A Call for New Testament Christianity
died for his church, the bride of Christ. (Ephesians 5:25-33) Man throughout history has corrupted the church that Christ died for through denominational ism, by adding man-made laws to the scriptures, and by following creeds other than the Holy Bible.
It is possible today, to be obedient to the will of Christ. Christians can resolve to restore the church to being the church of the New Testament. (Acts 2:41-47)
Some Things You Should Know
You should know that in Bible times, the church is called:

* The temple of God (1 Corinthians 3:16)
* The bride of Christ (Ephesians 5:22-32)
* The body of Christ (Colossians 1:18,24; Ephesians 1:22-23)
* The kingdom of God's son (Colossians 1:13)
* The house of God (1 Timothy 3:15)
* The church of God (1 Corinthians 1:2)
* The church of the first-born (Hebrews 12:23)
* The church of the Lord (Acts 20:28)
* The churches of Christ (Romans 16:16)

You should know that the church is:

* Built by Jesus Christ (Matthew 16:13-18)
* Purchased by the blood of Christ (Acts 20:28)
* Built on Jesus Christ as the only foundation (1 Corinthians 3:11)
* Not built on Peter, Paul, or any other man (1 Corinthians 1:12-13)
* Composed of the saved, who are added to it by the Lord who saves them (Acts 2:47)

You should know that members of the church are called:

* Members of Christ (1 Corinthians 6:15; 1 Corinthians 12:27; Romans 12:4-5)
* Disciples of Christ (Acts 6:1,7; Acts 11:26)
* Believers (Acts 5:14; 2 Corinthians 6:15)
* Saints (Acts 9:13; Romans 1:7; Philippians 1:1)
* Priests (1 Peter 2:5,9; Revelation 1:6)
* Children of God (Galatians 3:26-27; 1 John 3:1-2)
* Christians (Acts 11:26; Acts 26:28; 1 Peter 4:16)

You should know that the local church has:

* Elders (also called bishops and pastors) who oversee and tend the flock (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4)
* Deacons, who serve the church (1 Timothy 3:8-13; Philippians 1:1)
* Evangelists (preachers, ministers) who teach and proclaim the word of God (Ephesians 4:11; 1 Timothy 4:13-16; 2 Timothy 4:1-5)
* Members, who love the Lord and each other (Philippians 2:1-5)
* Autonomy, and is bound to other local churches only by the common faith shared (Jude 3; Galatians 5:1)

You should know that the Lord Jesus Christ:

* Loved the church (Ephesians 5:25)
* Shed his blood for the church (Acts 20:28)
* Established the church (Matthew 16:18)
* Added saved people to the church (Acts 2:47)
* Is the head of the church (Ephesians 1:22-23; Ephesians 5:23)
* Will save the church (Acts 2:47; Ephesians 5:23)

You should know that man did not:

* Purpose the church (Ephesians 3:10-11)
* Purchase the church (Acts 20:28; Ephesians 5:25)
* Name its members (Isaiah 56:5; Isaiah 62:2; Acts 11:26; 1 Peter 4:16)
* Add people to the church (Acts 2:47; 1 Corinthians 12:18)
* Give the church its doctrine (Galatians 1:8-11; 2 John 9-11)

You should know, to enter the church, you must:

* Believe in Jesus Christ (Hebrews 11:6; John 8:24; Acts 16:31)
* Repent of your sins (Turn away from your sins) (Luke 13:3; Acts 2:38; Acts 3:19; Acts 17:30)
* Confess faith in Jesus (Matthew 10:32; Acts 8:37; Romans 10:9-10)
* Be baptized into the saving blood of Jesus Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Acts 10:48; Acts 22:16)

You should know that baptism requires:

* Much water (John 3:23; Acts 10:47)
* Going down into the water (Acts 8:36-38)
* A burial in water (Romans 6:3-4; Colossians 2:12)
* A resurrection (Acts 8:39; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12)
* A birth (John 3:3-5; Romans 6:3-6)
* A washing (Acts 22:16; Hebrews 10:22)

You should know that by baptism:

* You are saved from sins (Mark 16:16 1 Peter 3:21)
* You have remission of sins (Acts 2:38)
* Sins are washed away by the blood of Christ (Acts 22:16; Hebrews 9:22; Hebrews 10:22; 1 Peter 3:21)
* You enter into the church (1 Corinthians 12:13; Acts 2:41,47)
* You enter into Christ (Galatians 3:26-27; Romans 6:3-4)
* You put on Christ and become a child of God (Galatians 3:26-27)
* You are born again, a new creature (Romans 6:3-4; 2 Corinthians 5:17)
* You walk in newness of life (Romans 6:3-6)
* You obey Christ (Mark 16:15-16; Acts 10:48; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9)

You should know that the faithful church will:

* Worship in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24)
* Meet on the first day of the week (Acts 20:7; Hebrews 10:25)
* Pray (James 5:16; Acts 2:42; 1 Timothy 2:1-2; 1 Thessalonians 5:17)
* Sing, making melody with the heart (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16)
* Eat the Lord's supper on the first day of the week (Acts 2:42 20:7; Matthew 26:26-30; 1 Corinthians 11:20-32)
* Give, liberally and cheerfully (1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 8:1-5; 2 Corinthians 9:6-8)

You should know, that in New Testament times there was:

* One family of God (Ephesians 3:15; 1 Timothy 3:15)
* One kingdom of Christ (Matthew 16:18-19; Colossians 1:13-14)
* One body of Christ (Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 1:22-23; Ephesians 4:4)
* One bride of Christ (Romans 7:1-7; Ephesians 5:22-23)
* One church of Christ (Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 1:22-23; Ephesians 4:4-6)

You know that the same church today:

* Is guided by the same word (1 Peter 1:22-25; 2 Timothy 3:16-17)
* Contends for the one faith (Jude 3; Ephesians 4:5)
* Pleads for unity of all believers (John 17:20-21; Ephesians 4:4-6)
* Is not a denomination (1 Corinthians 1:10-13; Ephesians 4:1-6)
* Is faithful to Christ (Luke 6:46; Revelation 2:10; Mark 8:38)
* Wears the name of Christ (Romans 16:16; Acts 11:26; 1 Peter 4:16)

You should know that you can be a member of this church:

* By doing what people 1900 years ago (Acts 2:36-47)
* Without being in any denomination (Acts 2:47; 1 Corinthians 1:10-13)

You should know that a child of God:

* Can be lost (1 Corinthians 9:27; 1 Corinthians 10:12; Galatians 5:4; Hebrews 3:12-19)
* But is given a law of pardon (Acts 8:22; James 5:16)
* Is constantly cleansed by the blood of Christ as he walks in the light of God (1 Peter 2:9-10; 1 John 1:5-10)

In Church:

Church of Christ
Matt 16:18
1Cor 10:4
Rom 16:16
Eph. 4:4,5
2 Cor 5:14

No divisions
1 Corinthians 1:10-13; 1 Corinthians 6:17; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 2:18; Philippians 1:27; Eph. 4:4; Philippians 2:5; 1 Corinthians 2:16; Romans 16:17

Heaven
Col 3:2,3
2 Tim 4:8

what you need to do to be saved

Hear: Rom 10:17

Believe in: God: Heb 11:16

Christ: John 8:24

Gospel: Mk. 16:16

Repent: Acts 2:38

Confess Christ: Rom 10: 9-10

Be Baptized: Acts 22:16; 1 Pet 2:21

Saved?
The only way to be saved is to trust Jesus for the forgiveness of one's sins (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). All who do not trust Jesus alone, by faith Rom 5:1; Rom 6:23; Eph. 2:8-9)are not forgiven and go to hell when they die (Matt. 25:46; John 3:18).

The Lord's supper
I Cor. 11:24, 25, 28

Baptism
Matt. 28:19; Rom. 6:4;
Acts 1:4-8; 2:4,38; 10:44-48; 19:2,6; 11:14-16; 15:7-9;
Luke 24:49;
I Cor. 12:1-31

Jesus, God, Holy Spirit, = Trinity - (meaning "three"). 3 is more than 1.
Eat at Home
1 Cor. 11:34
Rom 3:22

God has no respect of persons
Acts 10:34
Rom 2:11
Gal 2:6
Eph 6:9
Col 3:25
1 Peter 1:17

The (first) greatest commandment
Matt 22:36-40
Mark 12:30
Luke 10:27

Treat others the way you want to be treated.
Matthew 7:12
Luke 6:27-36

Reverend
there is no Reverend but God
(Psalm 111:9). Just because people slap The true christian name that we as the member of the church of christ established on 33 A.D. wear because Christ gave us that name.
(Isa 62:2 & Ac 11:26). We are only Affilliated with the members of One Body
(Eph 4:4).

Tithing

Luke 16:1-13
Hebrews 7:5-12
II Cor. 8:10-12; 9:7
Verse 5-11 - The tithes were taken by Levites according to the Law-(Law of Moses)
Verse 12 - The Priesthood changed - Law changed Tithing is not in the New Testament scriptures for the Church. Any so called Preacher, Teacher, Pastor, elder, etc. who teaches you to pay tithes is a false teacher, making merchandise of the people and is on his way to the Lake of Fire! 2 Peter 2:1-3.

Tithing/giving: Give to the fatherless, the orphans, the strangers, the widows, the poor, and the needy, the homeless, and the beggar on the street, as God gives to you, the wherewithal. Give to reputable charities if you have extra. Give to your family members and relatives in need—don’t humiliate them by making them ask you first. Give to a neighbor in financial distress. Even when tipping someone, let it be a reflection of the One that you are representing in your Christian walk. Our God is a generous God—may you become generous also. Develop a "love for giving." Paul tells us in Acts 20:35b to:

Remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how He said, IT IS MORE BLESSED TO GIVE THAN TO RECEIVE

This is the only thing it says about instruments in the N.T. (New Testament)
Romans 6:13
(says nothing about using any instruments when socialized with singing)

The N.T. says 'Sing'
Rom 15:9
1 Cor 14:15
Eph 5:19
Col 3:16
Heb 2:15
James 5:13
Rev 15:3

Baptism is for the
Matt 26:28

Adding taking away from God's word
Luke 11:52
Rev 22:19

Temptation
1 Cor 10:12-13

Jesus' gift
Matthew 13:11
Rom. 3:24; 10:8-10
II Cor. 5:10
Eph. 2:8

women/church
1 Cor. 11 : 23-29

divided cannot stand
Matthew 12:25

instruments

Whether we are well or sick, whether we are like Epaphroditus or like Timothy, we can always claim this promise from the Lord that His grace and strength are sufficient for us. He never allows us to suffer something that He doesn't give us the strength to live through.
2 Cor 12:9

Do not speak evil of one another
James 4:11; 5:9

judging
John 5:22, 30; 7:24
Acts 26:6
Rom 2:16; 14:10, 13
1 Cor 2:15; 4:5
Luke 6:37
Matt. 7:1,2
James 4:11,12; 5:11
Hebrews 10:30; 12:23
1 Cor 6:2,3; 11:31,32

Swearing
James 5:12
Mark 14:71
Matt 5:34,36; 23:16-22; 26:74

about unleavened bread
Matt 26:17
Mark 14:1,12
Luke 22:1,7
Acts 12:3; 20:6
1 Cor 5:7,8

Lust
Matthew 5:27,28
Mark 4:19
John 8:44
Rom 1:24,27; 6:12; 7:7; 13:14
1 Cor 10:6
Gal 5:16,17,24
Eph 2:3;  4:22
1 Thes 4:5
1 Tim 6:9
2 Tim 2:22; 3:6; 4:3
Titus 3:3
James 1:14,15
James 4:1-5
1 Peter 1:14, 2:11, 4:2,3
2 Peter 1:4; 2:10, 18; 3:3
1 John 2:15,16,17
Jude 1:16, 18
Rev 18:14

baptism is for the remission of sins
Matt 26:28
Mark 1:4,5
Luke 1:76-79; 3:3: 24:47

Seek Heaven/Worry not about tomorrow
Matt. 6:33,34

Gain just to lose, and lose just to gain
If you attempt to save your life you will lose it," {cf, Matt 16:25, Mark 8:35, Luke 17:33, John 12:25}. If you try to meet your own need, if you put that first in your life -- "I am going to have my needs met" -- the result will be that you will lose the joy of life and you will lose everything you are trying to gain. Instead of finding fulfillment you will find emptiness, and you will end your years looking back upon a wasted experience. You cannot get fulfillment that way.

About sex

sex is designed to be an exquisite pleasure which a married couple experiences frequently, as frequently as they mutually desire, and to whatever degree it may be desired. This is what is meant in
Hebrews 13:4
1 Thes 4 2-8
1 Cor 6:16-18; 7:1-2; 3-5; 8,9
Ephesians 5:31
Prov 5:15-21
1 Tim 5:2
1 Corinthians 7:7:28,34,36-38 [Note in these verses how virginity is assumed for unmarried women living in Christian homes. This is the same thing as we saw in the Old Testament. Virginity was the standard for God's people.] 2 Corinthians 11:2
I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. [Although this passage is talking about Christ and His people, it uses the analogy of a Christian man receiving his bride "as a pure virgin." Virginity was the ideal. Premarital sex was viewed as sexual immorality - just as in the Old Testament.]

"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh."

[Paul is quoting from Genesis 2:24 and affirming the Old Testament standard of uniting in flesh only with your spouse. One fleshness is to happen when a man leaves his father and mother and is "united to his wife." Compare with 1 Corinthians 6:16-18.]

marriage, single & sex
To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is well for them to remain single as I do. But if they cannot exercise self-control, they should marry. For it is better to marry than to be aflame with passion. 1 Cor 7:8-9

Gift of tounges, gift of healing, and prophecies ended

1 Cor. 11:23; 13:8; 15:3; Gal. 1:11,12; Phil. 2:25-30; Acts 28:9; We do read of prophecies that had been made about Timothy in 1 Timothy 1:18 and 4:14 and 2 Timothy 1:6, but these were given years before. So far as we read in these three letters, we wouldn't even know that there had been a "gift of tongues. Paul says nothing about the desirability of these men having a gift such as prophecy, or healing, or other sign gifts (see Titus 1:6-9 and 1 Tim. 3:1-10). The gifts of tongues, prophecy, etc. were no longer in operation by the time Paul wrote the pastoral epistles. t is clear that the gift of healing has ceased because, as in Philippians, Paul was no longer able to heal, even his co-workers. Timothy was suffering stomach problems and frequent infirmities (1 Tim. 5:23) and Paul can't heal him, doesn't recommend that he go to a healer in the church, doesn't send a prayer cloth or a bottle of anointing oil (remember the miracles of some 8 years earlier in Acts 19:11-12). Likewise in 2 Timothy 4:20, Paul has to leave behind his co-worker Trophimus who had fallen sick on the last journey. Paul's gift of healing (Acts 28:9) was no longer operating in Philippians 2:27, 1 Timothy 5:23 and 2 Timothy 4:20.
In the 3 Pastoral Epistles, as in the prison epistles, we do not read of tongues or the gift of healing operating at this time. We do read of prophecies that had been made about Timothy in 1 Timothy 1:18 and 4:14 and 2 Timothy 1:6, but these were given years before. So far as we read in these three letters, we wouldn't even know that there had been a "gift of tongues."
And, again, in places where we would have expected Paul to mention the sign gifts, he is silent. When Paul gives Timothy and Titus instructions regarding the choice of men to be elders in the churches, Paul says nothing about the desirability of these men having a gift such as prophecy, or healing, or other sign gifts (see Titus 1:6-9 and 1 Tim. 3:1-10). The gifts of tongues, prophecy, etc. were no longer in operation by the time Paul wrote the pastoral epistles.
It is clear that the gift of healing has ceased because, as in Philippians, Paul was no longer able to heal, even his co-workers. After studying Paul's letters and the scriptural teaching concerning the cessation of the gift of tongues, they ask, "What should I do now?" There are several possible explanations for the experience—it may be a psychological experience or even a spiritual experience, but clearly, from the Word of God, it is not the Spirit's gift of tongues.
What should they do? Simply: Stop! Stop speaking in the tongue because it is not from the Holy Spirit.
For many this is a great relief. They've been taught that a person has to speak in tongues to prove that he is really saved, or that he really has the Holy Spirit dwelling within. So they've "learned" to speak in tongues, but when they see from Scripture that this gift is not in operation from the Lord today, they can at last cease their effort to prove their salvation and start to walk by faith and not by sight.
For some, Paul's instructions to the prophets at Corinth will be pertinent:
"If anything is revealed to another who sits by, let the first keep silent. For you can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be encouraged. And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints" (1 Cor. 14:30-33).
When we are having an experience that we learn from the Scriptures is not from the Lord, it is time to "keep silent," and remember that our spirits are to be under our own control—"the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets." The Lord warned that experiences can be deceiving:
"Many will say to Me in that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'" (Matt. 7:22-23).

love
1 Cor 13:3-13; John 3:16 Tim 1:5; Eph. 5:2; Rom 12:9,10; 1 John 3:18; John 14:15

9 fruits of the spirit
Col 3:12
Galatians 5:22-23
(love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance)

Forgive those who do you wrong
Col 3:13

You are not your own
Rom. 8:9; 12:1-3

I want it
Psalms 37:4

Israel is God's people
Isaiah 43:1-7

Who will not inherit the kingdom of Heaven?
Matt. 7:21
1 Cor 6:9-11
Gal. 5:19-21
Rev. 21:8,27
Eph. 5:5,6

Hypocrites
Matt 6:2, 5, 16; 15:7-9; 16:3; 22:18; 23:23-24; 23:13-15
Isaiah 29:15-16
Matthew 22:18

Exact in minor, but neglecting important duties.
Matthew 23:23-24

Devouring widows' houses/Zealous in making proselytes
Matthew 23:14,15

Heap up wrath.
Job 36:13

Fearfulness shall surprise.
Isaiah 33:14

Destroy others by slander.
Proverbs 11:9

In power, are a snare.
Job 34:30

Woe to.
Isaiah 29:15
Matthew 23:13

Punishment of.
Job 15:34
Isaiah 10:6
Jeremiah 42:20
Jeremiah 42:22

Illustrated.
Matthew 23:27-28

Pharisees, &c.
Matthew 16:3

A sin is a sin: God sees all sins are the same
James 2:10-11
Rom 3:23
Matt 5:19
Blaspheme is a sin, but it cannot be forgiven.
Mark 3:28-29

About prejudice and judgement
James 2:1, 9
Galatians 2:6; 3:26-29
James 2:1-4
Rom 2:11; 10:12-13; 15:7
Eph 6:9
John 7:24

Homosexuals/gays
Genesis 1:27, 28; Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:26, 27; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:11

God remains consistent in His condemnation of homosexuality as He does for all other sins. Homosexuality is indeed an unacceptable lifestyle before our Lord God Almighty. By the written Word of the Most High God we cannot condone or embrace homosexuality within the church.

Favoritism
James 2:1-13

10 Commandments
Exodus 20:;2-17
Deu 5:6-21

7 deadly sins
Prov 6:16-25
Col 3:5,8
Rev 5:1,2,5,9; 6:1

Is hate the same as murder
1 John 3:15

Aliens/Astrology: "Delusions"
Luke 21
Acts 15:20;
Romans 1:24, 29;
1 Corinthians 5:1; 6:13,18; 7:2; 10:8;
2 Corinthians 12:21;
Ephesians 5:3;
Colossians 3:5;
1 Thessalonians 4:3;
Jude 7;
Hebrews 13:4
Galatians 5:19;
Gal 4:8
Isaiah 66:4
2 Thes 2:9,11
Matt. 24:24
Jer 10:10, 11, 15

When Jesus comes, it shall be exactly like the days of Noah
Matt 24:38 , Luke 17:27

Does the Devil rule the sky?
Eph 2:2

Do you really want to go to hell?
Isaiah 24:21
Matt. 7:22-23

End Days
Luke 21

Once saved always saved?
Hebrews 10:30
Matt. 7:22-23
Rev 3:16

I've given you the key scriptures to life.
How far away is Heaven?

"Be forewarned"

Mark 4:15

"Church Of Christ"

Matt 16:18
1Cor 10:4
Rom 16:16
Eph. 4:4,5
2 Cor 5:14

'Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth'
(2 Timothy 2:15)

Eternal life
1 Jon 5:11-13; Matt 10:32-33

Hey, I'm telling you this out of care and respect for you, not because I wanted to upset you today. As I tell everyone this,...k?,.....

Well,...there's no doubt we live in dark times. The world is constantly getting worse and new evils arise with each breath of passing time. Wouldn't you want to make it out of this world that is just like a dark cave ready to crumble in on itself? Nothing lasts forever, and we know not when we shall meet with the chill of death. The opposite of death is life. And the only way to live after this life of death is through Christ, Jesus. Wouldn't you want to believe in something more than just living to wake up and look at the reflection of yourself in the mirror. Going to work to make money so you can go home with a heavy load of problems on your mind when you go to sleep, then you wake up and do it all over again? I don't know about you, but, I don't want to believe in nothing at all. It's so empty. Even though I am a Christian, I still try to imagine what its like to just go through life without hope of something more after death. Proof of God is all around us. Look at the perfectly put together blue sky and white clouds of atmosphere. All of the round sun & round planets in the solar system are made to go around in a balanced symmetry. While the big bang theory may have been true, it was controlled by God. If it were not true, why hasn't multiple big bangs happened out of no where? We would die instantly if one happened out of nowhere, right? Black holes are just theory's made by man. If someone were to actually see one, they would already be dead, because it crushes everything including the rays of light. Super novas are no where near us as well. They are blowing up no where near our solar system. The human heart constantly pumps blood without a battery, and people still do not know how it works. While they have figured out that the brain sends electrical messages back and forth to our muscles, they still haven't figured out 'completely' how the eyes work when they flip images on the inside of our eyes. I believe everything happens for a reason. If life were as random as people think it were, there would be no deep meanings in anything, and the creatures of Star Wars would roam the earth. Humans and animals would be able to have babies. Why would they not? Especially, if everything blew up out of nowhere from the big bang theory. Think about it. Everything that is in the bible all adds up. Everything. Its too well crafted and perfect for man to write on his own. The prophecies are all coming true. Everyone has a soul. And according to how you lived, you will be judged. I'm afraid of God and his judgment. That's why I try to do what God says.
While others may believe aliens exist and say that they have had encounters with them believing that they are the ultimate form, I wouldn't know if they exist or not. If they do, they could possibly be no more than a delusion sent by God to lock the unbelievers in their place since they won't change their hearts. (2 Thes 2:8-12; Rom 1:28; Ps 81:11,12 109:17; Isa 29:9-14; John 12:39-43; Rom 1:21-25,28; 2Ch 18:18-22; Mt 24:5,11 1Ti 4:1; Job 12:16)

First,...God is not the author of confusion: 1 Cor 14:33

why I attend the Church of Christ

The old covenant (which was given to the children of Israel only. Notice the words of Moses in Exodus 19:3-6), was done away with when Jesus died for our sins. It tells about the future coming of Christ in the old testament (Daniel 7:13-14; Isaiah 7:14). It predicted the Messiah's zeal (Psalm 69:9), His miracles (Isaiah 35:5-6), and characterized His preaching (Isaiah 61:1-3). Also, it described the Messiah's betrayal by friend and His death (Zechariah 11:12; Psalm 22). Further, the Old Testament prophesied the Messiah's resurrection and ascension (Psalm 2:7; 68:18; 110:1; Jeremiah 31:31; Psalm 2:7; 68:18; 110:1; Hebrews 8:8-13. Here,the writer of the book of Hebrews points out the many 'faults' of the old covenant and contrasts them to a new and living way with better hopes and promises—the perfect New Testament.), (which is for our learning (Romans 15:4) while the New Testament is to be followed (Matt. 5:17; Hebrews 9:16; 10:1,9 ; Acts 2:22-40; Romans 15:4).

I go to the Church of Christ because it was founded by Christ in his name (Rom 16:16; . Not the name of any other man. Just as any name, it comes from somewhere and belongs to some one. Just as buildings, business', and streets all have names, there is no difference w/ Christ. You wouldn't name a business or street after someone else's street if you wanted to be remembered for starting it would you? Especially if you wanted to keep a strict name and tradition only belonging to your family. It makes sense doesn't it? God is not the author of confusion, but, man is. Some churches believe in the baptism of babies. Is this right? The whole purpose of baptism to begin with, it for the remission of sins. What sin has a baby committed if it has not the consciousness to discern right from wrong?

Here's an interesting view as well:

(      http://www.gospelway.com/salvation/infant_baptism.php   )

I attend the Church of Christ because they worship the new testament. I also attend because they speak where the bible speaks and stays silent where the bible is silent.This is the closest you can get to Jesus through the word of God. God doesn't want you to add nor take away from his word. (Luke 11:52
Rev 22:19.) There are denominations. Denomination takes away from the word.

Denomination

(Taken from: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&defl=en&q=define:denomination&sa=X&oi=glossary_definition&ct=title)

* a group of religious congregations having its own organization and a distinctive faith
* a class of one kind of unit in a system of numbers or measures or weights or money; "he flashed a fistful of bills of large denominations"
* appellation: identifying word or words by which someone or something is called and classified or distinguished from others

(Taken from: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/denomination)

denomination
Noun
1. a group which has slightly different beliefs from other groups within the same faith
2. a unit in a system of weights, values, or measures: coins of small denomination have been withdrawn
3. a name given to a class or group; classification

(Taken from: http://hyperdictionary.com/search.aspx?define=denomination)

Definition:

1. Though there are some Church of Christs that have strayed, you can easily see which ones are sound by scripture comparison. Also, those churches that claim to heal and give the holy spirit are wrong. Those gifts ended. (There is healing today, but there is no gift of healing, there are no "divine healers." There is no gift of healing today but God still heals... sometimes. He healed Epaphroditus, but He did not heal Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:8-9 or in Galatians 4:13-15, or Timothy in 1 Timothy 5:23, or Trophimus in 2 Timothy 4:20. He heals according to His will today. But the promise that He gave to Paul is still our promise today in the dispensation of grace: ) It's either all in people's minds, or its a hoax. They may be psychologically delusional. Telling their selves something when its all in their head.
