Over the past weekend I finished quite a lot of work in regards to my next tune titled, "Denied". The song is about a couple who love each other dearly, but go their seperate ways because of stubborn pride and not being able to say "I'm sorry". The female is so despondent and can't bare the thought of living her life without her love, that she kills herself. Now, she is lost in the shadows and not at rest. The male is in great agony after hearing that she committed suicide and wishes to kill himself as well. The female speaks from the darkness to him, telling him to not join her and to live his life, they will meet again when his time comes.

I went with a Shakespearean-type theme on this one. Of course I added some fantasy as well. But, it's really your classic romantic doom type of tune. Most of the arrangements are complete. Aside from the heavy guitar you can always expect from a metal band, I added some violin along with ghostly string keyboards. I will be having a female vocalists, RavenHair, featured for this song. It's her debut appearance as a vocalist. The song should be complete within a few weeks.

Until then...I videotaped the recording of the drum tracks using a Roland TD-12 and posted a video on YouTube.

"I Wish" Released

Well, I finally finished this tune called I Wish. It started out as just being an instrumental with no drums, heavy guitar, or symphonic elements at all. Each time I thought I finished this tune there was something else I wanted to do on it. After publishing it here and listening to the tune some more, I wanted to change some more things. I'm not going to do it though. The minor glitches I hear and probably you hear will have to be endured. :)

Greetings and Hailz,

My name is Larshus. I am the sole musician in the project known as My Life's Despair. I've been playing drums since a very young age. I have played in numerous bands.

Mourning 94', melodic death metal
Autumns End 95', black metal
Tri-Lambda 96', power-pop
The Secular 96'-00', gothic rock
Down In The Lab 01'-04', gothic elctro-rock

During such time I have learned to play other instruments as well (guitar and keyboards). I've pretty much given up on bands and now concentrate on making my own music. My Life's Despair is my solo project and I started it in 95', essentially learning to do everything myself.. The musical style could be described as Atmospheric Doom, Death, Black, Gothic metal with elements of Folk here and there. But, you be the judge.

I will keep posting new tunes as I finish them. Some will have accompaning videos.

I will not be uploading any old stuff from the 90's when all I had to record on was a 4-track. So I shall begin fresh and upload tunes I have created since the beginning of this year, 2008. To date, I have finished two songs this year. All I See (The Bridge) and I Wish. Both are on Imeem and All I See (The Bridge) has a video as well. I'm currently working on the third tentatively titled Denied. I will have a guest female vocalist, RavenHair, doing some parts for that tune.
