Troika is a passion. Troika is a love. Troika is a perspective on life we've never had before, and after Troika is gone we will never have again. <br><br>That is what Troika is to us--a language more suited to convey the both the broad, classic ideas and the subtle, subjective nuances of our innermost impulses than any other we could speak, write, or sign. Something is lost in translation from our hearts to our words; songs, however, leave nothing unexpressed.<br><br>No one mood lies behind our songs. Some are funny, some happy, some sad, some angry, some confused, some detached, but all in touch--in touch with what is truly dwelling in us, with what we truly have always wanted to say.<br><br><br>||| ..:.:.. Shtog<br><br>Troika formed in January 2006 when its two founding members, Andrew Lassiter and Mitchell Udell, spontaneously wrote their first original song, Sulfur Rose. The bright idea then came to play this song at an open mic hosted by Joey's Java Juice in Panama City Beach, and before they knew it the two were on the fast track to international stardom*.<br><br>Since then the group has stayed a two-piece (in the performance aspect at least), and until recently they were performing their unique brand of progressive folk rock quite religiously every Thursday night at the place where it all started, the JJJ.<br><br>Troika completed their first EP entitled "Pushing the Moon" in August 2006.<br><br>The band hopes to add a third member, Nathan Grimes, to the performance mix, but we'll all have to see if he will get off his ass to practice.
