A Scanner Darkly

Welcome to the "A Scanner Darkly" online community, where you can share photos/videos, discuss the movie, interact with other fans of the film, and much more.

Based on legendary science-fiction author Philip K. Dick’s own experiences, “A Scanner Darkly” tells the darkly comedic, caustic, but deeply tragic tale of drug use in the modern world. The film plays like a graphic novel come to life with live-action photography overlaid with an advanced animation process - a method known as interpolated rotoscoping, first employed in writer/director Richard Linklater’s 2001 film "Waking Life" - to create a haunting version of America, seven years from now.

A different take on the world of film. Amusing as well as an eye opener. This guy will certainly make you think twice when you see your next movie. http://www.film-crew.blogspot.com/

Total Recall was an amazing movie, even in spite of Arnie's acting.
I remember seeing it on the big screen many moons ago when it came out.
Great story line!!!

hey just to add one i think Scott Manley left out is a movie that came out last year i think called NEXT. it had nicholas cage and he could see a couple minutes into the future. i actually never saw the movie, but its based on a PKD short story called The Golden Man. The Golden Man is about a race of mutants that can see a couple minutes into the future. The movie NEXT came in #3 at the box office when it was released but, i never even heard anybody talk about it except me.

I have never understood the Blade Runner thing. It is a boring, mostly unwatchable movie with a horrible horrible performance from all actors involved. Not to mention the travesty that is the directors cut. I think it is one of those movies that people like because everyone else seems too... I just don't get it.

That's interesting - I had no idea Screamers was based on a PKD story. I saw it years ago, and have to say I was very impressed at how good and thought provoking the movie actually way.
