Summer Schedule

Seems like this year is just flying. Here we are in June and I am headed out of Texas heat for most of the summer. After a quick one-nighter in Houston on June 14th at Tommy's Seafood Restaurant I'm headed to the west coast for a 3 week journey in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am on faculty at Jazz Camp West in La Honda, California. The camp is located in a YMCA facility in the redwood forest about 20 minutes from the Pacific Ocean. Camp is a collection of amateurs and professionals who all come together to celebrate and study this American art form. Days are spent in classes learning everything from latin percussion, voice, guitar and dance just to name a few. Evenings are the open mic performances from the students and the faculty concerts. Most attendees consider the price for camp is not about the educational opportunities but the evening concerts. Check out Jazz Camp West to find out more about camp.

After camp is finished I'll be staying in San Francisco to film a video. The tune will be the live version of "Everything Must Change" from the KG3 Live! at the Bugle Boy concert. Famed photographer, Frankie Frankeny, will be shooting and the post production will be done by Umlat Films. I am very excited about this project since I've never really done a professional video of any of my music.

If you are looking for some vintage footage from my career, start checking YouTube soon for clips. I recently transferred all of my old VHS tapes to DVD. These are live recordings from concerts and interviews that I have done over the past 15 years. Watching my hairstyles change over the years is really quite funny. The uploading process will be slow to happen so don't loose patience with us and please keep doing a Kellye Gray search every time you are on YouTube.

Lastly this summer, in July I am headed to Eastern Europe headlining at the Viva Musica! festival in Bratislava, Slovak Republic. If you're in that part of the woods on July 25th come on out and join in the fun.
