Moongoat is Jeremy Hicks (Thou Gideon, Enargeia, Low Budget Invaders) and Simon Bennett (Wiggle, Kurrel the Raven, Kwook!).<br><br>Moongoat was convened to provide a soundtrack for the fashion event “bamboozle” in 2002 in collaboration with Ivan Bannon (FAD, Elvis Penis). Live jams at the Studio Concours D’Elegance between February and October 2002 ranged from trippy beat-based electronic music to dense essays in thoughful and unsettling atmospheres.<br><br>On their debut release through Hidden Shoal Recordings, Moongoat have produced an EP laced with a wonderfully unsettling immersion. Playing out like a planted distant memory, each track describes an unfolding atmosphere that slowly becomes whole as it fills the room like a gas.<br><br>Perhaps as an unconscious response to Eno’s experiments with music for imaginary films, this is music as film. Following in the path of modern ambient luminaries, Stars of the Lid, Moongoat work to create something larger than the drone.
